New Delhi : Keeping in view the increasing users of smart phone and the
rolling out of 5G , the use of phones which are more featuristic are on the rise and
the middle class choice of Apple I phone is getting multiplied due to its handy and
easily comprehensible features . For the last 6 months apple has sold over 4 lakh
units in the Delhi-Gurgaon-Greater Noida area . In Mumbai it has sold over 2 lakh
units in the last 6 months and the units are quite nearer in the tech capital of
India that is Bengaluru as that of Mumbai . The units in Chennai i.e over 1 lakh
are not up to mark as compared to Delhi and Mumbai. The eastern capital cities
of India that are Kolkata and Bhubaneswar also see steady rise in selling of
phones .
The sell is expected to increase further after Foxconn the top global vendor
of Apple is exploring possibilities of setting up of a manufacturing facility in
Greater Noida as the company is reportedly eyeing a 300- acre plot along the
Yamuna Express way . It could be a larger facility of the company than that of its
unit in Bengaluru and would mark its first foot print in North India . The company
is in with talks with the Government and the products details are yet to be
finalized . In the month of April Apple finalized that it would manufacture most of
kits I-phones for US in India which is a shift away from China . The Government of
India has also made a deal with apple that it would employ Indian labour force in
in its manufacturing units . It is assumed that this move of Apple has come up
because of ongoing trade tensions and tariffs between US and China .
Besides Apple other smart phone markets that are thriving in India are
Xiaomi , One Plus , Samsung and Nothing ( a new entrant ) . One plus which is also
middle classs choice is a Chinsese manufacture and is currently competing with
Apple .
